Nestled in the countryside of Nardò, in the eponymous district, Masseria Scianne has deep roots in an ancient history, closely tied to the land and traditions of Salento.
The name “Scianne” comes from the local dialect word “scianni,” a metal container used centuries ago in olive mills for transporting and pouring oil, reflecting the area’s agricultural vocation from its very origins.
The farmstead dates back to the 17th century and was originally used for raising cattle and sheep. Today, the Masseria has been transformed into a refined agritourism estate, combining rural authenticity with contemporary hospitality. Here, time seems to slow down, allowing guests to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside and the flavors of Salento’s traditions.
The carefully restored spaces of the ancient stables retain their characteristic look, featuring tufa fragments and star-shaped vaults. The farm’s products reflect a deep connection to the land.
Masseria Scianne is also the perfect starting point to explore the wonders of the area: from the Baroque beauty of Nardò (10 km) to the enchanting bay of Porto Selvaggio and the Uluzzo Caves (8 km), the stunning coastal villages of Santa Maria al Bagno (12 km), Santa Caterina (9 km), and S. Isidoro (3 km), as well as the majestic fortified farmhouses scattered around the agritourism estate.

We are guardians of an ancient land where history, nature, and agricultural tradition have been intertwined for generations. Surrounding the historic buildings lies an agricultural estate of about 60 hectares, cultivated according to the strict principles of organic farming.
From our fields come organic vegetables and fruits, which we transform on-site into preserves and artisanal jams, prepared in the traditional way with simple, wholesome ingredients. The heart of our production is extra virgin olive oil, made from an olive grove of around 10,000 trees, guardians of a centuries-old heritage.
Each product tells the story of the land and takes guests on a journey through the flavors of Salento’s rural tradition. An experience of aromas, taste, and heritage, designed for those who wish to rediscover the pleasure of wholesome foods and experience the countryside in an authentic way.
Organic Production
Framing the historic buildings is an expanse of about 60 hectares, forming the farm’s agricultural heritage, cultivated strictly according to organic principles. The main products include vegetables, which are transformed into delicious preserves, fruits turned into jams, and above all, extra virgin olive oil, produced from an olive grove of around 10,000 trees.
All our products are processed on-site and reach the guest through traditional Salento peasant dishes, revealing authentic flavors that carry the taste of the past.
Salento Tradition
Our focus on high-quality ingredients and strictly organic products, all sourced from our farm, allows us to create Salento traditional dishes with the utmost respect for recipes passed down for over 35 years.
The restaurant dining area consists of two spacious rooms (former stables), renovated using traditional construction methods with exposed tufa blocks that highlight their architectural features, and has a seating capacity of 70.

Shades of the Past
During the winter months, you can immerse yourself in the warm shades of the past, evoked by antique furnishings and the warmth of two still-functioning cast-iron stoves, fueled with olive wood.
During the summer, a generous breakfast is served, made daily with fresh homemade products (cakes, fruit juices, jams, yogurt). Dinner, on the other hand, takes place outside the restaurant under a large portico, where you can enjoy the gentle breeze that usually blows in this area.
